2000 VILLAS LIGHTING REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Challenge

Most of the villas in Dubai feature very inefficient lighting due to using light bulbs that are not energy efficient. Over the past few years the electricity bills have increased which has become a major issue for families in Dubai. The challenge is selecting the right light bulbs that are energy efficient which will produce the same amount of light and accommodate all different types of villas and villa owners.

Solutions

S4P shortlisted the following energy savings light bulbs:

• Smart4Power Identifies lamps to be replaced based as per contract
• Replacement of light bulbs to high energy efficient LEDs.
  • LED spotlight
  • LED tubes
  • LED GLS type
• Replacement lamps are then recycled.

The villas lighting energy consumption was reduced by 80%. This project was a massive success and new initiatives are already in the pipeline to enlarge the scope of the energy conservation measures in the villas.
